If you want to get serious about studio photography, you should invest in a couple of studio flash heads. Having lots of power means that you can control the light in interesting ways, you can manipulate the light. Flash can freeze the action, with very fast exposure times, and give you all the depth of field you need.More light equal faster shutter; speed equal sharper photos; More light equal smaller; apertures equal sharper photos. Studio flash heads also recycle very fast, much faster than a portable flashgun, so you can keep shooting at a fast rate. The top professional gear will be bigger, more powerful and more reliable when used all day everyday, but the bottom of the range lights are certainly powerful enough for use with our DSLR cameras.

In photography, the aperture is the circular opening inside the camera lens that allows light in to strike the film or digital sensor. The shutter in a camera is a device that closes and opens. With your aperture already set to a certain size, you push the shutter-release button on your camera and the shutter opens and then closes. ISO sensitivity is the third aspect of exposure. It refers to the light sensitivity of the film or sensor. The problem with raising the ISO is that more sensitive settings create lower-quality images with more “noise.” Noise can be described as discoloration or graininess in your image. When shooting color images there is another important factor to consider with your new camera, white balance. Focus is as important as anything. After you have set the focus, manually or automatically, on what it is you want in focus, simply press and hold the auto focus lock button and recompose your image the way you would like, and then take the picture. Your DSLR will likely have three focus modes, manual, one-shot auto focus and continuous auto focus.
